DESCRIPTION:Have you been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and are still of working age? \nYoung Onset Parkinson’s is the term used to describe the condition being diagnosed under the aged of 65 years. \nLiving with Parkinson’s while still employed and raising a family can bring its own set of challenges. That is why Parkinson’s Victoria runs a Recently Diagnosed Seminar specifically for people of working age. \nRDS sessions provide an intimate environment in which individuals and their families can understand diagnosis and connect with others facing a similar situation. \nYou will be provided with the knowledge and tools to build a foundation for improved confidence\, self-management and care\, including symptom management strategies\, plus information on the many support services available. \nThe Young Onset RDS also includes information specific to managing Parkinson’s while remaining at work. A representative from Maurice Blackburn will present relevant information relating to employment\, discrimination and superannuation. \nBy attending this unique event at Maurice Blackburn’s Melbourne office\, you will learn more about living with Parkinson’s from experts\, have your questions answered and meet and hear from others facing comparable changes and challenges. \nFamily and friends are also welcome to attend. Attendance is complimentary for Parkinson’s Victoria members (plus one accompanying guest) – or $20 per person for non-members. \n
